Our 6th Annual Holiday Hafla
Hafla in arabic means a party or get together. Outside of Arab speaking countries, many bellydance teachers will sponsor a Hafla for their students and the dance community. They can be small gatherings or more elaborate events with recorded or live music. Dancers of all levels perform solo and group performances, as well as vendors selling their wares.
Melbourne Belly Dancing Space Coast is proud to present our 6th Annual Holiday Hafla and your invited!
The academy is proud to present this years 6th annual holiday hafla. This is a wonderful community event that started in 2017 with a small group of students and local instructors and has grown into one of Florida’s most popular hafla’s. By offering students, of all levels, and their teachers a large stage to showcase and share their dance, the word quickly spread and here we are. Dancers from around the state travel to share this large amphitheater, network, and celebrate this art. We have a very supportive group and we meet new faces every year. There’s something special about dancing next to your friends, under cascading Christmas lights, next to a 40 ft tree. We cannot wait to share this special time with you!
The City of West Melbourne has sponsored our event and we are proud to announce that we will be performing at the West Melbourne Community Park Amphitheater again this season. We are so thankful that the West Melbourne Recreational Department continues to sponsor and support our cultural event every year!!! We are so appreciative, thank you!
We are also excited to announce that The Dancers Eye will be taking professional pictures before and during the show. Pricing information will be published soon. We also have a videographer too.
Let’s celebrate our dance, community, and friendships. Please use the form below if you’d like to sign up. This is a very popular event and space is limited. Dont delay and sign-up today.
Admission is FREE for dancers and guest(s). Want to be a spectator? No reservations or tickets required.

The Stage:
The stage is 80 ft long by 40 ft wide. We have laid out four-six rugs 8 x 10 ft each (picture shows only 2 but there will be 4). Note: Let me know if you have a troupe performance and if we need to add another rug to space out your team. The surface of the stage is concrete with a light texture. If dancing bare feet, you will need to dance on the oriental rugs.
The backdrop is a black velvet curtain flanked with fairy lights covered in white sheer and gold sequin curtains. We have colored stage lights along the edges and lighting up the stage. We also have a 40 ft Christmas tree flanking the stage, which is amazing!
We are adding 2 additional large color spotlights highlighting the entire stage along with more white fairy lights along the back edge and steps. So double the lights shown here.
Dressing room:
Please come dressed/partially dressed, if possible. We will have a small tent for changing. There is a bathroom close by and a space behind the stage that is private for dancers to place their goodies and throw on a belt or small prop. We will have a trifold or two set up for single changes in the back also. The space is 10 ft x 80 ft; spanning the back of the stage. Options – but no formal dressing room.
Chairs:
We are planning to set up a few chairs but please bring one or a blanket for your little one. The amphitheater field is huge and the kids love to run around. It’s well lighted.
Cash:
Bring cash as we will have food vendors, henna, and a Christmas cookie sweets table.
