Meet Our Instructors
Melbourne Belly Dancing is a collaboration of dedicated Belly Dance Instructors who elevate the artistic integrity of middle eastern dance while preserving and honoring the culture where it originated Egypt. Through education, training, and events, the team aims to develop new standards of achievement for the art form. We do this by hosting classes, workshops, retreats, teacher training, events, and studio-to-studio support.
We strive to educate both students and the general public by providing a cultural exchange through dance.
Our Mission: The pursuit of fusing and nurturing the ethnic traditions that promote, present, and preserve dance art in a positive light.
Meet our Instructors
Marcelly
When it finally happened, she started belly dancing and teaching Yoga. For years, she has continued her path deepening her studies in Yoga, Dance and Education. After an intense 500h Yoga Teacher Training, she founded her 1st Yoga studio, the COGU Collective and dove into teaching Yoga and the English language for Brazilians. Some time later, she founded the Ayurvelas, a 100% handmade natural cosmetic line.
Since 2019 Marcelly lives in Palm Bay, FL where she continues with her studies in Odissi (Indian Classical Temple Dance-Drama), Hatha Yoga and Middle Eastern Dance.
Rya
Rya means dreams, flow, and vision in Arabic. As a classically trained dancer, she always dreamed of performing and teaching for others. After graduating from Penn State with a Bachelor of Arts, Rya decided to continue her education and focus on exercise science and health. With a minor in dance, she has taught various dance, fitness, gym, and home health classes. Due to health reasons 15 years ago, she took a bellydance class and fell in love with the dance. She is now certified in Yoga and also teaches Beginner Belly Dance and Dancer Stretch classes.
Rya’s vision is to inspire others, “move and groove”, to flow through life and have fun. Shimmy on!
